What are the types of copper wires?

There are many materials of copper wire, and different copper wire materials are actually different copper wires.

Classification of copper wire:

1. Copper and copper alloy wire have many specifications and varieties, and the classification methods are not uniform. According to the wire alloy, it is divided into pure copper wire and alloy copper wire.

(1)Pure copper wire: It is made of pure copper through pressing or pulling.

(2)Alloy copper wire: Two or more alloy elements are pressed or pulled to form wire. Alloy copper wire can be roughly divided into white copper wire, brass wire and bronze wire. White copper wire can be divided into ordinary white copper wire, manganese white copper wire and so on. Brass wire can be divided into aluminum brass wire, lead brass wire and so on. Bronze wire can be divided into silicon bronze wire, magnesium bronze wire and cadmium bronze wire, etc.

2.According to the cross-section shape of the wire, it can be divided into round copper wire, flat copper wire and type wire. Flat copper wire: It is also called pressed flat copper wire, flat angle wire or ultra-narrow strip, which refers to rectangular metal wire with approximately rounded cross section, whose thickness ranges from 0.025mm to 2mm and width is generally less than 5mm. Its width-thickness ratio varies from 2:1 to 50:1.

3.According to the performance status of the wire, it can be divided into soft copper wire, hard copper wire and semi-hard copper wire.

(1) Soft copper wire: The hard copper wire is heated to remove the residual stress generated by the cooling process, which is rich in softness and bending, and has high conductivity, and is used to manufacture conductors of communication and power cables, wires of electrical machinery and various household appliances.

(2) Hard copper wire: Copper wire made by cold processing of extended wire, which is generally used in a good place that has been fixed.

Advantages of hard copper wire: It has high tensile strength and is suitable for overhead transmission lines, distribution lines and conductors of construction lines.

(3) Semi-hard copper wire: The tensile strength is between the hard copper wire and the soft copper wire, which is used to tie the overhead wire and the wiring of the radio.

4.According to the purpose of wire, it can be divided into electric wire, rivet wire, filter wire, resistance wire, thermoelectricity wire, compensation wire, copper wire for cold Pier screw, electric vehicle wire, etc.

5.In terms of its wire diameter, it can be divided into:

(1)superfine line below 0.04mmΦ

(2)extremely fine line 0.04 ~ 0.10mmΦ

(3)fine line 0.10 ~ 0.30mmΦ

(4)center line 0.30 ~ 1.00mmΦ

(5) large line 1.00 ~ 2.60mmΦ

6. The coating materials can be divided into:

(1) Bare copper wire: Abbreviated as BA in English. The copper wire is made of pure copper rod wire drawing. The material is single, and the surface is made of copper metal. The appearance looks yellow, and the color is dark and light because of the purity of copper. In terms of physical properties, bare copper wire is soft in material and has excellent conductivity.

(2) Tin-plated copper wire: The surface of copper wire is tinned to increase weldability and protect the copper conductor from erosion when it is pushed out by PVC or rubber insulation, and prevent the aging of rubber insulation.

(3) Lead-plated tin copper wire .

(4) Silver-plated copper wire: Abbreviated as SC in English. After silver plating on oxygen-free copper wire or low oxygen copper wire, it is drawn into thin wire by wire drawing machine.

(5) Nickel-plated copper wire: A layer of nickel wire is plated on copper by electrolysis or chemical methods.
